Soon enough, you will be able to respond directly to customers that rated your apps on the App Store.
This was definitely missing on iOS. Being able to reply to customers directly will help with the maintain of good reviews, and help with the developer’s public image. I think one well aimed reply can lead to a very happy customer that’ll end up being an evangelist for your game.
This is not exactly fresh news, but since iOS 10.3 is probably right around the corner and I don’t think it’s been mentioned on the forums yet, I thought some of you would enjoy this.
I completely disagree, it can be quite useful to help address issues the customer had. Customer service isn’t just for people who enjoy the product, its for everyone. That said, it can be approached the wrong way and that is something that should be avoided.
I see it like @RavenOfCode . It means a lot when a rep acknowledges a user’s bad experience and replies politely and possibly helpfully.
There’s nothing bad that can come out of a “We’re sorry that you had a bad experience using our product. Thank you for reviewing us.” and then pointing them to whatever help resource/upcoming changes that feel suitable.
Imho, you are really thanking that user because he/she provided you feedback that you will factor in the future. Even if it’s just more data, and that user doesn’t really reflect your target market, data helps you create a more accurate general portrait of the mobile audience and a lot can come out of that.
Possibly the user will be a douche and turn his review into a troll post, but I guarantee that at the end of the day, whatever entity you are representing will look better to the other people scrolling through the reviews.
