Deferred or Legacy Deferred? What's the difference?

Which should I use? Deferred or Legacy Deferred? What’s the difference? :rage:

visual… no? try to play with fog and some immage effects

New Deferred uses a full gBuffer and requires MRT but has 1 Geometry pass. (MRT stands for multiple render target , it’s 1 Shader exporting to more than 1 texture)
Legacy Deferred doesn’t require MRT , uses a light pre pass but requires 2 Geometry passes.

If you want to support “very” old hardware , go with legacy , else go with the new one

The new one is faster by quite a bit than the old one too, so yeah use new Deferred.

Yup. I’ve noticed the speed improvement with the new Deferred rendering method. Looking forward to having Mixed light mode working with Unity 5 and then I’ll feel like we have near parity with Unity 4 dual light-maps.
