When exporting the character from Maya has small deformations in the options I put Animations Unity Store in Roots.
And in the Maya animation curves are good.

Unity doesn’t import vertex animation like those used in facial animation, if that’s what you’re trying to do.
Either have to do the animation with bones or use a custom morph mixer script.
Do you mean “Store in Root” or “Store in Original Roots”? “Store in Original Roots” is not used very much, so I wouldn’t be surprised that someone catches a problem that we’re not aware of…
