I put a link to my paid app in my free app (as any good developer would), and I’m not sure if I made a mistake or if I just need to wait. For my first app, titled “On and On - Music in 3D”, the URL Connecting to the iTunes Store. will take you to it. My new game is called “foggy fields: Play, Create Listen” and I expected Connecting to the iTunes Store. would work. It doesn’t right now. Neither does Connecting to the iTunes Store. work for “foggy fields lite”.
Does it just take a few hours for these URLs to work? My game just got put up for sale today, so, I wouldn’t be surprised. At the same time, I’d like to fix my URL ASAP if it was my fault.
You get the url of your app before you upload the actual binary, so you can submit an app, fill out the stuff then get the url. It should be effective the moment your app is available usually. Check the itunes connect page for your app, for the proper url.
I know, but I decided to be clever and use the shortened version that I thought would work. So, yeah, I know how to definitely fix it but I’d also like to know if there’s a chance that it won’t be broken in a few hours. I mean, you’d think the link for the lite version would work.
Why does a tidy url matter to you? an url is an url… its hardly your homepage and a link on the website would have meaningful text instead of the full link showing.
The point is I want the button in my lite app to go to my paid app, and I’d really love to not have to wait for Apple to review a new version of my lite app that simply fixes a link.
