Hi , if someone can help me with this, I would be very grateful. I backup my projects by copying the project folder, I don’t zip it, and I store it on an external drive. When I paste the folder back in the Documents folder for my Unity projects, some of the scene terrains, get deleted, ruining the scene and causing me to have to either recreate the terrain and somehow make it work, or start the scene all over again, which is usually the case.
I tried the backup plugin for unity , and it did not work. When I imported the backup I just got a bunch of missing assets.
Is there something I can do to not have my terrains deleted when I reimport my project? Thank you.
Ok I finally went back into the BackupProject unity plugin to see exactly what prefabs were deleted upon restoring the backup. It turns out, Out of 4 scenes, only 2 prefab ancient temples were deleted, not sure why , but I will take that instead of having my entire terrain deleted!!! Thanks to the maker of that plugin!! It’s free and your terrain won’t be deleted. Maybe just a prefab or two which is not bad in my book.
Here is the plugin I used to backup my project, I am probably going to add the 2 temples back in, then just copy that backup to an external drive and zip it to the cloud.
Sorry last note of advice. I just copied the temple folder from my original project and pasted it to replace the empty copied folder, and Got my temple back in its right spot. No need to redo the temples.
