Deleting Sprites resulting in No Sprite Found Popup Spam -Unable to Use Editor

Basically as shown in the below video, I cannot use the editor anymore, because it keeps spamming that message popup, which if I could use the editor I would fix by replacing the now null sprite image references…

f1tl0p

This happened after I deleted a few sprites, which I was going to replace(the new versions are already sliced and put into animation clips)

Using Unity version 2019.3.10f1

If I need to revert to my last commit, its a not a big deal, but wastes about an hour of work, so I’ll wait to see if anyone knows a solution.

Thanks for any assistance.

Hello @The_MrX_1 ,

I think that you try:

  • Force Unity to quit (by using the Task Manager in Windows) and open Unity again;

  • It doesn’t work, you can also quit and delete the Library folder before opening Unity again.

After opening Unity again, reassign the sprites if possible to the animation clips before opening your conflicting scene.

I hope this helps!

So there is no way to have a sprite renderer with no sprite?

Resurrecting this thread to say force quitting seems to be the only option and it’s obviously terrible. I’ve just lost an hour of work because this lovely popup does not go away.
