Info :
Hey Unity community. I’m just looking to get some feedback on one of my projects. Any (constructive) criticism, ideas or suggestions would be great. I’m a one person studio so please be realistic with your ideas.
The game is planned for release on various Web and iOS platforms. Hopefully if there is interest I will be able to put it on Android also.
once you have played the game once a user does not want to have to click through all the how to play screens again to get to play the game again, add some sort of “skip to game” option
Unless there is some precise hit area required which I did not trigger correctly , it took three drops - which all hit him on the head , to get him to die. This seems a bit excessive .
The next guy came running out and the stalactites do not regenerate enough in time to account for doing more timed drops.
The game play was interrupted to many times by the in game help system which required me to click to dismiss and starts the game play immediately leaving no time to adjust mouse back to what i was doing. If you are going to interrupt the game with a help system , use a “count down to play” or some kind of time buffer to accommodate the interruption before resuming , especially based on the timing factor of your game and the small window for error before its game over.
Shader thanks for taking the time to provide some feedback. If I may ask some questions in return?
Did the tutorial show twice for you? Once you go through it it shouldn’t show up anymore. If so that’s a bug.
The Pygmys have a life count above their heads that should indicate their current health? Did that not show up or are you just saying you think the Pygmy’s shouldn’t have that much health? As the game progresses you purchase upgrades that allow your stalactites to be more powerful. I was hoping that would be enough but perhaps you’re right and it’s just too much health to start with.
So more time in between when a Pymgy spawns? Am I understanding that correctly?
That’s a good idea. I didn’t personally have this problem but I could see how it would throw others off potentially. I’ll add some delay after clicking done.
Thanks again Shader for your input It’s very helpful.
Played the first 6-7 levels with no problems that I could see. The fire is only useful for getting rid of those little fast guys with 50 hp and even then you must get them on fire at the very beginning since the fire kills so slowly.
It was simple, but simple is good for your targeting touch devices.
Overall I had fun playing it, the voice, I’m assuming is yours, had some cool sayings.
The only problem I had was that at times the screen camera wasn’t moving.
Thanks for playing the game. Ya as you progress you can upgrade the fire damage and speed it does damage. So at first it’s somewhat weak but it gets better as you go. I appreciate your feedback.
Thanks for taking the time to play the game. Yes it is meant to be simple but hopefully fun as well. The voice is mine lol. It’s kinda silly but I wanted to do something different. I agree about the camera and am working on trying to smooth it out. Thanks!
I have a contrary criticism about the tutorial. I accidentally skipped the “drop stalactites” instruction as I was trying to span across the cave just as the instructions appeared on the screen and ended up tapping the instructions away. You should prevent this from happening.
Thanks for checking it out. I’m not real sure how to go about changing that but I’ll look into it. Maybe I’ll add a delay before the button is able to be activated? Thanks!
The only thing I don’t like is the voice, (sorry if it’s yours) it just gives me a headache. What is being said isn’t the issue, just the tone really gets to me.
Haha! Yes it’s mine. I can completely understand that. I hate hearing it also. More so because no one likes the sound of their own voice. This is why I added the option to turn the voice off in the options menu. I was more interested with experimenting with the idea than anything else. I’ve gotten very mixed feedback on it so far. Some like it, some hate it. At any rate thank you for checking it out.
