Demo restirctions?

I’ve downloaded the Indie demo of Unity and was wondering what restrictions there are.

I have built a simple scene and it seems that whenever I go to the game view and hit play, it reverts all my scene changes. For example, I’ve scaled up a box and dropped in a camera. When I go to game view it resets my placement of the camera and removes the scaling on the box.

Any ideas?

I suspect you have inverted your perception of whether the game is running or not.

When you enter the game-playing mode, everything is started and running, but you are still able to make changes. When you exit playing mode and go back to editing mode, anything that’s changed is reverted to its default state, as you describe.

As for your first question, the demo is a fully-functional Indie version, meaning the only restrictions are those of the Indie version - no Windows builds, no image effects, etc.

that appears to be it. Cool, I was hoping there wasn’t a save restriction or anything.

The only restriction is that the demo expires after 30 days.

I think I’ve heard that another one is that there is a watermark on web builds built with the demo version.

Is that just the demo? I thought that was there with registered Unity Indie as well.

I believe that the watermark always appears on the Unity webplayer on Windows.

For trial versions, that is.
