Demolition League

Hello Everyone,

We have just set loose our first Unity3d Game on Facebook! Demolition League is a top down shooter that allows you to upgrade your weapons, armor and skills. Each player gets a Standard League Issue Outpost they can arm and upgrade. Attack your friends Outposts and try to setup your own defenses to protect against others attacking you!

Demolition League does currently require a Facebook account. We do have plans to create a non-Facebook version in the near future.

While it is asynchronous multiplayer at the moment we do have plans to bring in real-time competition in the future. You can also compete for the League High Score in Survival Mode!

We have a lot of things still planned, more weapons, armor, outpost upgrades etc… But the game is in a fairly playable state. Be sure to use the in-game “Voting” system and vote for any features you want, or submit your own ideas as well!

We would love to hear feedback if anyone has the time to check it out at
http://apps.facebook.com/demolitionleague.

Lastly, we would like to send a big ol thanks to all of you for helping us learn Unity3d through these forums. The community is and has been excellent!

Thanks!

this looks great!

nice work and welcome to the forums!

Tried the game - cool! I like the music, design, models and animation and of course the gui. But there are also a lot of things that are not ready (is a beta version). For example I could shoot only once with the left mouse button and 5 or more times with the right mouse button. AI is just following - it is not attacking you. You can stand still and watching them moving around you and nothing more. I know it is a beta version - but keep in mind that a beta version should have all features your full game will have. Nethertheless I like it - I like the style and the environment. When you keep it up developing I will buy it when it is ready

I like it, especially the idea of leveling up (as it kept me returning).

*You might want to fix the link because it has an extra period.

Played the game. Just a few notes for you:

Loved the art although a little too familiar to other games. You need to set yourself apart more from other games of this genre. Felt like I was playing Xenophobe

The sound is good but limited. More variation for the future, please. Including sound effects, monster/robot noises (maybe a cool onSpawn noise for the big robots shooting the green weapon?), and sound track. Just a little more variation would be great

Loved the RPG aspect although going up in level felt like it had no effect. I’m assuming the baddies scale with my level? If so, it feels as if Im a hampster on a wheel. I don’t feel like the stat increases are having any impact on my survival. I’ve only purchases one weapon upgrade, and that did feel like a big improvement.

The purchasing of stats and hitpoints aren’t really balanced. One points gets 1 for STR or 1 hitpoint. It would almost seem more “bang for buck” to get all stats and ignore hitpoints? I’ll need to play more, but for now, spending skill points on hitpoints seems a total waste of resources. Perhaps 5 hit points per skill point would make it better value?

Is multiplayer not ready? I couldn’t find another Outpost to attack in 30 minutes of game time. Guessing multiplayer isnt ready or no players are online. I was really looking forward to that aspect of gameplay though.

More light effects would be great! If you are licensed for Unity3, take advantage of the deferred rending and create a few more spectacular effects.

More level designs! Nuff said on that one

The act of firing really wore out my arm and elbow. Perhaps taking less emphasis off accuracy so I’ll be more inclined to auto fire? Not really sure how to fix this issue, but be aware of it. Physical fatigue is going to be a problem for active players.

Last observation is aiming. Aiming on the mouse seems to be off. Fine tune the character rotation to smaller increments perhaps?

In conclusion, I think you’ve got something to be proud of here. I think your game needs a lot more polish, but I can see how much hard work you’ve put in already. The RPG aspect is on its way  Fun game and can’t wait to see the final product.

Beautiful game, I love this style. Just one thing, make the legs follow the rotation of the upper body, otherwise it seems we’re twisting his spine.

Actually I like many of your other games too (Reflexive Games). How many are you? How long did development take?

Nice game
