Desert volume 3 trees and vegetation is a set of game ready assets for your next project. There is a large variety of vegetation with 27 trees and 17 vegetation prototypes. These assets are designed for Unity 2018 or later. Unfortunately support will not be provided for Unity versions prior to 2018. Includes a custom LOD system that helps with performance and smooth fading between LODs.

Features:
• The package is released for all versions of Unity 2018.
• Looks great in VR.
• Easy to use, simply drop the prefabs in your scene.
• Inventory scene included.
• All the vegetation contains LOD’s and billboards.

Looks good. Are they using custom shaders?

There’s no custom shaders. We used the nature tree shaders for trees and then standard shaders for other vegetation. There is however a custom LOD system that helps with performance and smooth fading between LODs.

Hi, does this asset pack work with Vegetation studio Pro?

Never heard of Vegetation studio. From a google search it looks like a third party asset. There’s no way to confirm it without purchasing the asset. Sorry about that.

Ah ok, it may be worth looking into as a lot of people are using it for creating environments as a replacement to unity’s tree placement system - it basically needs some modification to your material/shader in order to support GPU indirect instancing (which anyone could do on their own as well…) But other tree model creators such as Nature Manufacture ship with prefabs that are compatible with Vegetation Studio.

I just see now that Lennart Johansen from Vegetation studio has commented above. I will ask him for a free copy so we can do a test.

Hey guys.

It looks like an editor script slipped into the custom LOD DLL

We will update the asset store version but this may take a while to get approved by Unity.

In the meantime this package will fix the issue:

Simply import the package and everything should run correctly.
