Design Guidelines Survey

We are working on a better, bigger, more usable HIG solution (Human Interface Guideline) for the Unity Editor.

It would be immensely helpful if those interested could answer some questions about how you do your work. We want to ensure that what we make will be useful to you in your day to day. Especially when creating tools extensions/packages to be used in the Editor.

Survey

*Last summer we pulled the old HIG page down the old page as we were not able to keep it updated while working on a new solution and it was causing some issues for people. Some kind folks on the forum requested that we keep it up and while we looked into doing just that. We looked into it and after consideration we decided to keep it down and focus on making a complete solution that we will be able to support and maintain. Thanks for your patience and for taking the time to post!

Hm, I’m very interested in this topic, but I missed this forum thread because it’s pretty hidden within the Editor Workflows forum, which doesn’t show on the forum front page, so I keep forgetting about it.

I’d really appreciate a reworked HIG solution since I’ve already used the old pages extensively. I think it’s really important to establish common design guidelines among all developers, especially asset store publishers. There’s a lot of value if custom tools (even in-house ones) are as close to Unity’s standards as possible since users will appreciate known workflows and metaphors.

So please keep up the good work!
