I am making a 3D minigolf game and I want to detect when the ball gets outside of the course (gets inside a forbidden area) and then make it respawn at the previous location. The entire course is in the same scene, similar to Golf it!. The ground is a Terrain layer and then I have golfcourse prefabs placed on top of that.
What would be the most efficient way of detecting when the ball gets outside of the allowed area (current hole)?
Well, one way is you could put a object there on the floor, which blends in with the course, and when the ball touches that area, you can reset it’s position. Or what you could do is check if the ball’s position is in a certain area, if it isn’t, reset it’s position. Hope that helps!
