[DEVELOP] RAYart - Framework and Tools inspired by Rayman Legends(UBIart)

RAYart

Description
“The idea was to create an engine with tools powerful enough that we could take a drawing from an artist, render it in an engine, and play it” - Xavier Poix

Creating levels can be a real pain in the ass, especially complex 2D levels. Even worse, if you are “just” an artist, who wants to bring his ideas quickly to life, don’t bother with meshes!

Good news everyone! RAYart is your salvation!
The main goal of this asset is to improve qualitiy and help developers to create “clean” levels on the fly (INSIDE unity!!), while preserving precious time. You want to change this particular wall? Well, just pull or add a marker and RAYart generates the Mesh and UVs for you. Normally you would have to do that inside a 3D program like Maya, change vertices and uvs, just to reimport the model again in unity. RAYart does it for you and it cost less than a 3D artist (…sorry mate)!
Of course you can use RAYart in a 3D Environment, but primary it’s for peudo 3D games.

RAYart was inspired by the game “Rayman Legends” and the engine UBIart. All the cool level editor features and tools of UBIart should find their way inside Unity, in few words, this assets gives you the possibility to create a game similar to “Rayman Legends”.
Of course RAYart is just a mimicry, so the results might not be 100% the same, nevertheless I’m confident to even improve qualitiy and usability of RAYart compared to UBIart.

Sadly I’m out of coffee and I really appreciate cheers. Therefore I release my work in progress!
If anybody buys the RAYart Standard before I finish my asset, he supports me and my coffee supply, therefore I thank him by upgrading his Standard version to a PRO version.

Uh, that looks cool, but what’s the difference to this:

BTStone, thanks for your reply!

I didn’t know about this asset and it’s always nice to know what other programmers pull off.
The difference, Ferr2D is (for now better) integrated inside Unity, but supports only one artificial surface, which I call “Plain”.
RAYart supports 3 artificial surfaces, with different purposes.

My example shows the surface “Wall”, a surface that is perfect for elements like walls, fances and grass. You use this surface for background or foreground elements and platforms like a bridge.

Surface “Plain” works similiar to Ferr2D, but I guess Koujaku and I have different approaches, therefore the results may distinguish.
My “Plain” for example isn’t flat, therefore it supports variable camera angles. If this approach is now better or not, might depend solely on your personal taste.

RAYart will offer you more surfaces, but it’s still in development.
Hope that answered your question, BTStone!

Something new here?

dude can you please release this?
