There needs to be a plan for developer diaries on this forum.
Developer diaries are when you record the development progress of your game.
Cool idea, but isn’t the WIP section good enough for that?
That would require you having something to show first. Heh?
Either use the WIP forum or setup a free Wordpress blog and link it in your signature and profile.
Wont be seen by as many people but will be in a more permanent location that you can manage yourself.
Hm, there is also a place where people post their blogs which generally are developer diaries, so if anyone wants to read them they can just go there too.
The people who go to WIP tend to expect games and updates of significant progress…

Is it someone twiddling about with the Unity Terrain editor with placeholder art?
This is a forum, people tend to prefer not seeing posts of minimal progres levels. They specially rather see visual stuff.
I’d say make the free wordpress blog and post there your small steps and insights, post in the WIP thread every time you hit a big milestone.
I guess thats only your own expectation.
Afterall many many devs share some kind of dev diary in the wip forums.
Setting up something dedicated would just result in people copypasting from their own blog since they’d want maximum exposure.
I think that WIP thread already combines both - development diary and showing content from time to time. No need for new thread.

Are you targeting game developers with your game? Unless you’re recruiting I don’t see a point to advertising your project here, if anything someone else will do it better if it’s actually a good idea.
My eyes are so trained at identifying multiple links with the same text as spam that I thought it was just a spambot recycling text at first 
And agreed that dev diaries aren’t really within the remit of UT’s forum, get a following and your own site for that.
As other have mentioned, for good or bad, this is more or less a visual sort of crowd, imho.

just do a search for 'unity3d dev diary’ on youTube.
If you wanna write a book,…then make a blog and put it in your sig like Tharsman said, it’s the best suggestion for you, yet.
