I know that a couple of years ago there was a forum thread where someone at Unity was working on a package which was upgrading the PhysX SDK to 4.x, however I don’t know if that was released or died at project level. My question is: Is unity still on PhysX 3.4 or did it upgrade? Also, since there’s 2 new physics engines now (Unity Physics and Havok) are there any plans for updating the PhysX SDK?
Yes, Unity upgraded the Physx library to 4.1 from 3.4 in Unity 2019.3:
Havok is a separate physics engine that works only on the ECS game engine, and has its own licensing requirements. It’s not related with the Unity default game engine (GameObject based).
Oh, thank you for the reply! I knew about the requirements of Unity Physics and Havok but was not aware that the 4.1 SDK was integrated since the 2019 release.
