Digger model, intended for Unity iPhone game

This is my first attempt at 3d modelling (Blender 2.56) - this is the ‘hero’ object from an iPhone app I’m developing. It’s for children so it’s supposed to be a little cartoony, hence the big thick hydraulics and bolts :slight_smile: Since it’ll be always prominent in view, I’ve given it a reasonable amount of resources: 1.7k tris, 3.5k verts. Probably could strip that back a bit. It contains 5 bones - chassis, cab, 3 arm joints. I’m pretty pleased with it for a first go! Next up: learning to texture…

Nice work ! Should look cool with some really flashing orange colors on it ! I wish you all the best nerves in the world animating that thing :smile:

The target market is not really them, it’s their parents… they like anything that’s a little diversion for their kids. I tried out some work in progress on my 3 year old nephew and he loved it - his mum says her iPhone-using friends are always buying kids’ apps. Will publish to iPad too.

That’s the theory, anyway. It’s always a guess until it’s proved right or wrong! :slight_smile:
