Direct X to Fragmotion to milkshape to .fbx not working in unity?

I took a rigged direct X model and opened it up in fragmotion, saved as milkshape file, then exported as fbx, then imported in unity. Everything imports-except for the mesh. When i do the same thing with other direct x models (when the limbs arent attached with stretchiness) they import just fine. Any ideas?
