I’m following a tutorial on directional lighting on unity’s learning platform and their objects have some sort of lighting even when the directional light is being blocked by another object whereas mine is completely dark… I have some examples of this in the images attached. It seems if I don’t have a light directly shining on an object it will light (there is no light from the surrounding skybox or anything, I’m using default skybox). Here are the images:

Is this new in unity? I am just coming back and I don’t know how to fix this (if it needs fixing).

Thanks!

Hello There, I have the same problem and can’t find a viable solution. It seems that the meshes only take into account the reflexions but not correctly. I’ve lost countless hours trying to solve this and its messing my mind ^^"

If someone have an explanation or a solution it would be awesome.

(FYI, I’m using Terrain, baked light for the global illumination, and some rotating directional realtime lights to simulate a day/night cycle) I also tried in a new project and hav the same issues as OP so I think these are related.

Thanks in advance
