Disable exponential flythrough speedup?

In 3.4, flythrough mode used to be a constant speed, and I could use Shift to double it.

However in 3.5 the speed seems to increase exponentially, as I keep flying through my scene.

Can this new behavior be reverted somehow? I would like to fly at a constant speed as I inspect my scene.

I +1 this… there should be added some option in the preferences to choose with exponential, the standard moving speed, etc.
Preferences in Unity is a really bare place that should be enhanced with suggestions from users.

I’m working with very large terrains…and the new system feels awkward at times.

I like it myself, it was always irritating going from A to B in large physically-sized scenes (1 unit = 1 meter) so the new behaviour is good for me. But to further this, the FPS free flight behaviour should have speed settings.

Any more information available on this?

I am visually inspecting each of our numerous game levels, looking for a particular visual problem. It would be much easier to detect the errors I’m looking for if I could fly at a constant rate. Instead, the flythrough speed keeps increasing, so I have to let up on the WASDQE keys and re-press them. It’s very jerky this way.

Is there a preference setting for the old behavior, buried somewhere?
