That was unexpected. My kids will not be happy (nor is my pocketbook).
I would think your pocketbook would be very happy. One less toys-to-life product to sink money into.
I am not happy. I really liked Infinity. I really liked those figurines. I was hoping that we would eventually be able to get a Gravity Falls playset and series of figures. Now that will likely never happen. Very sad.

Does this affect you at all @zombiegorilla ?
Nope.
As usual, games “journalism” isn’t always completely accurate.
That article did strike me as a bit odd. Last I checked publishing and developing weren’t the same thing.
On the contrary. This means now’s the time to go to the store and raid the shelves, as they’ll most likely be worth a pretty penny in a decade or eight.
I’ve never bought an Infinity/Skylanders/Amiibo figure. I would, just for the fine quality craftsmanship of Infinity/Amiibo, but I’ve got too much shit collecting dust already. But seriously. Now’s the time to probably buy them and cash in later.
I would have really loved a Gravity Falls collection too. Great idea. I’d be sure to get Grappling Hook Mabel, or Memory Erasing Gun Dipper, or Magnet Gun Dipper, or Journal #3 Dipper, or Crossbow Wendy, or Infinity Pizza Slice Soos. Oh well.
My future wallet is ecstatic, the wallet of purchases past, not so much.
Not really a fan of it myself. The UI was unresponsive and not intuitive for kids (or me for that matter) and 3.0 was buggy (in 2016 you can’t handle tabbing out to the desktop without shutting down or doing the flicker dance, really?).
That said, the kids really enjoyed it and it was a good motivator for me to use on them (to earn characters, etc.).
Not just games journalism. The current media market in general is set up to reward first to air and most sensational titles. About the only area that gets rewarded for accuracy is the weather forecaster.
Indeed. Also, “games” and “console games” are not the same thing.
Exactly. For example:
Neither of these headlines are accurate.
This is the first thing I thought when reading the news. Good to know that this decision has no impact for Zombiegorilla.
