I’ve been trying for 3 days to send my binary to Apple without succes. I’m running out of patience and ideas. I tried to follow every steps in the user guide but I get stuck at this when I try to compile:
‘iPhone Distribution’ doesn’t match any identity in any profile
I have my security certificate, I have my distribution profile installed. When I try to set up the Code Signing Identity the iPhone Distribution popup tells me “no profiles currently match”. In that popup I can see my distribution provisioning profile. It’s grayed out. Profile doesn’t match Application Identifier com.myCompanyName.myApplicationName (of course it has the right words instead of myCompanyName and myApplicationName.
What do you want from me xCode!?! I gave you love, I restarted you, I gave you all the profiles you want. I’ve been more then a friend for you xCode. Why do you treat me like that?
Gee! It’s more complicated to send a binary then programing it!
Robert
there are a few additional things required for the distribution build above what you required for the test builds.
See the corresponding documentations you find on itunes connect to learn more about it
Care to elaborate a little more then “read the docs” please? I read the docs over and over, and the FAQ. What an I missing?
Thanks,

Have you checked whether you myApplicationName matches that which you registered in your profile? It is case sensitive, so check for lower/upper casing.
Problem found… my app ID had lower case “c” instead of “C”…
Is there a way to delete an app id? I did see the option on the web site.

Is there any reason why you would want to delete your existing app id? In case you’re not aware, your app id is just for your own identification, so it can be different than your released app name as it is displayed to the public.
Hope that helps.
There’s currently no way to delete an app id, I tried searching for this myself and really believe it needs to be added in.
As for the reason, I have an excellent one. Try having two identical app id names! Why apple would allow this in the first place is beyond me but it’s very confusing having to remember which one to select in drop down boxes
Bububear: Actually that was the reason I couldn’t compile my app. The name in the app id didn’t match the one in the provisioning profile. I created a new app id and it worked. But now I have two app id with the same name and I want to get rid of one.
I’m sorry Riouxr, I guess I’m still not quite understanding you correctly. Are you suggesting you have 2 app id’s of the same name (one with capital, the other with lower case?) For example. myApp1 and MyApp1 ?
Can’t you just change your app id for the game you’re trying to compile to match the one in the provisioning profile and ignore the other app id you created?
That’s exactly what I did but now in my app id list I have 2 that have the same name. The description is different but the name is the same.
So two of them are called CubicMatch but the descriptions are like that:
XXXXXXXXXXX.com.jungleofsharks.cubicMatch
XXXXXXXXXXX.com.jungleofsharks.CubicMatch
So when I have to choose the app ID I never know which one to choose.
Could you not just choose the one that works with your provisioning profile? Whichever one that is? Once you figure that out, just remember to always use that one when you compile for submission.
Simplest is to take create another build target that uses the deployment provision (and another one if you use ad hoc too).
That way you just choose the corresponding target and are set.
I personally don’t have named dev provisions but a wild card one, as I don’t see any use in named dev provisions. They just make life harder.
Also you can easily remove provisions that are no longer in use and I would highly recommend to do so
