Dll Windows system files.

Dammit. I’ve screwed up my computer- I can’t get past the login screen to my blobby little world and mathematical geniusism! xD
Unfortunately, I can;t get into unity, because the graphics drivers are disabled in safe mode. If anyone can please PM me and send my the ones I’m missing if I send them a list? They have to be Windows 7, and 32 bit.
And mods, if you don’t think I should post this here, feel free to delete it, it’s just I’m in a bit of a dilemma right now.

Tried system restore? It’s a wonderful thing.

Yes, however, the thing that’s buggered these dlls also turned off system restore, so I have nil restore points. Absolute zero.

Take a look at this web page

Use your set up disk to do a repair on the OS installation.

That won’t work either, sadly.
And that site doesn’t have the critical windows 7 system files.

You put the disk in on boot and it wouldn’t boot from the set up disk?
Is there a reason it wouldn’t boot from the disk?
Are the settings in your BIOS set to boot from the CD/DVD drive first?

Nope, that will only start startup repair. That works fine, but It doesn’t solve my problem. I just need replacements of 5-6 files, and it should wokr again and let me log in xD!

So, you ran the repair and that didn’t fix it?
There is no reason you should need any files outside of what is on the disk.

That’s the point: they’re not on the disk. They are the files relating to the boot and logon screen, and the explorer.exe. What’s happening is that these files are corrupted and changed from the originals, so it can not load them when the login screen should appear, so thus it does not appear at all. Using safemode, like I am using now, of course doesn’t load these dlls because it has no need to. But then I can’t do anything at all.

Also, I can find the dll .man files, basically the xml files on the disk that tell it where to go, but no actual files.

If you just run a repair on that installation, Windows will fix itself with all the needeed dlls, removing and replacing all the needed files.
Don’t use the repair console (unless this doesn’t work), just say “no” to a repair (this may be older, like XP) and choose to install Windows.
Then, once it tells you there is already an installation of windows on the computer it will ask you if you want to repair that installation.
Choose “yes” and it will repair the installation wihout messing with your original set up, but you’ll hae to reinstall any service packs, etc.

Did you run CHKDSK with the fix option?

Fails to complete.

EDIT :
It will check now on next reboot.
And are you running windows 7 32? Do you have a basebrd.dll and a shellbrd.dll file in your system32 folder if so?

I’m running Win 7 64.
I’m not at home now anyway, at work we run XP still.
Have you tried the process I mentioned above, or are you assuming it won’t work and not trying it?

tried it all, and still won’t boot into windows normally.
//
I need those files from someone. Anyone???

I would have to look at it myself.

Ok,but if you can, at some point, look in your windows system folder and see if those two files are there when you can? It might help.

Nope, sorry, no sign of them.
Gotta get some shut eye got a big day ahead of me.
Hope you find some resolution!

ok. Well, if anyone is using windows 7 32bit, can you please pm me? It’s getting urgent. Especially now I have no job and my computer is the only way to generate any income now.

Boot into your windows 7 disc and open the command prompt from there. Then use this to replace any and all system files that are missing and or corrupted:

sfc /scannow

If for some weird reason you can’t open command prompt from the disc, try and see if you can use that command in safe mode.
