Do I really store all of my game items in the hierarchy?

Hey forums,

Noobie here asking some general questions about game development in Unity.

Lets say I am making an FPS game with 20 weapons in it, is the only way to have them accessible through each and every scene is to have them all in the Hierarchy? I’m curious how that works in very large games with lots of scenes.

Is there a way to just “include” them all by including one extra file in a script or something?

You can create a folder call resources in the project window. You can then use Resources.Load() to load what you want when you want in any scene.

That’s brilliant. I’m going to bookmark this page.
