Not games that tries to replicate specific CP (like slender or SCP games). Rather games that have that creepypasta feel to them and after playing you are unsure what exactly did you play. Both free and paid, though obviously free would be better.
I don’t know what Creey Pasta is, but as far as games which make you unsure what exactly you played when you’re finished go, I’d say The Room has that kind of effect. Starts out as an innocent puzzle game and gets very freaky towards the end.
The Room was amazing. I absolutely want more games like that. Not just the atmosphere, but also the great, yet simple puzzles. The beautiful art didn’t hurt any.
The Room gave me goosebumps as I went through it and the “story” unfolded, very eerie and psychologically abstract in it’s passive style of horror (I guess that’s the right term for it?), not at all what one would expect from a puzzle game. Taken out of it’s puzzle-box restrictions and put into a wider adventure game and it would be a far more effective method of instilling an uneasy, lasting fear of what’s to come than the over-reliance on jump-scares of most self-proclaimed horror games.
The way the puzzles worked was sheer genius, one of the few games where you can be looking at it for ages, completely stumped, and then suddenly have a eureka moment when everything clicks into place in your head. The free epilogue update showed the developer could recapture that feeling so I’m very excited for the sequel which I think is due soon.
I definitely agree that more games should be made like it, games which actually provoke deep thinking and an open, minimalist story which can let your imagination run wild.
Yeah I thought creepy pasta was actually stories about haunted video games.

I really liked the story in Dream:Scape. Really need to play that one all the way though but the story blew my mind.
