Well, think it has too much of everything. Is that a sort of goblin-human-robot-xman hero?
If youâre aiming to make a recognizable and believable hero, you need to make it original, but according to the userâs expectations.
For example:
If you want your hero to be a goblin, you need to differentiate it from other goblins with some distinctive treats. But trying to put everything you can come up with into one character (to make it original I assume) is pointless because it will not say much on the first sight.
You should be able to tell thatâs a hero by the first look at it. And Iâm not referring to your modelling skills but rather to the design side of your work.
good luck anyway.
Think this thread should land in âSmall Worksâ by the way.
Thanks for feedback guys. Hmm, I see it is really a problem. At first I thought it would resemble something robotic. Later as I sculpted along, it changed. As I went too far, I thought instead of just deleting the mesh, lets hear what people think of it Everything except the leg, came from a dynameshed sphere. The leg, I modeled separately.
And also I have learned a lesson of what could happen, when you create things without a reference picture
I think itâs fine. I mean yes it is awkward, but thatâs what makes it your character. Why bother going pure goblin or robot or even goblin robot? These are all things that have been done so many times in the past. All you have to do is add some nice detail texturing to that model and change things up a bit until you find something you and everyone else likes. It doesnât even have to be believable. This is after all a video game character. He could be some dark alien being from a blackhole. Or some creation a mad scientist made up. Keep at it!
