Is there any online documentation/language specification for MonoScript? I don’t mean the basics which are already covered on the Unity homepage, but an in-depth documentation.
MonoScript is different to Javascript so it won’t be enough to read the Javascript docs.
Search for C# documentation instead of “MonoScript”.
There is no specification for Unity’s Javascript (referred to internally as UnityScript). Mostly, if you can’t find an example in Unity’s docs, then the corresponding syntax doesn’t exist.
C#, on the other hand, is well-specified. I recommend using it if you care about language specs.
I’ve never ready the term UnityScript. In the docs I’ve only read about JavaScript and MonoScript. So are they the same?
I also read somewhere that SecondLife uses MonoScript too. I don’t think they’ve built they virtual reality upon Unity?
The docs never use the term MonoScript (except for this, which is something else). You may be thinking of Mono, which is the open source implementation of .net that Unity uses. If you look up JScript, that’s mostly what Unity’s Javascript is like. Or at least a lot closer than web Javascript.
Indeed not…it would probably run a lot better if they did.

Oops, he meant UnityScript; I guessed wrong as to what “MonoScript” was referring to, my bad ![]()
