Does everybody has Pro version?

I see every person talking about Profiler, and Pro features.
Also almost every second video tutorial has Pro skin out there.

Have all those people, starting, indie developers paid 1700$ for Unity3D pro? I really don`t believe that people who have problems with basic stuff talk about profiler when it is only Pro feature.

Do all those people have “pirated” Unity? (At least for skin and profiler)

Lots of indies and hobbiests have purchased Pro.

Just to give you an idea, I do a lot of photography, and my camera equipment, computers, printers and software is around £7500. I don’t make any money from this. It’s just where I’ve spent money over the years when the wife isn’t looking.

I have Pro, just for fun. Mostly hobbying and tinkering. It is the most expensive piece of software I have ever bought to be used just as a toy. Why? Because it is awesome.

I’m sure that far from everyone use pro, but I myself bought it though. And I’ld say Dunnett was more or less spot on.
I play alot of Music myself and all the Equipment I’ve bought over time cost alot more then Unity pro did. But in the end it’s all about your priorities and interest where you spend your Money… apart from bills and neverending car repairs I suppose.

Nah its just strange that people say they dont have good pc or they dont have money for buying games and then they buy 1500eur engine.

That’ll be your usual pirate which can’t enjoy the regular updates or release anything.

Hmm, are you speaking about people in general?
I bought the computer I use Unity on back in 2008 or something so surely my computer is old, and I don’t want to spend Money on a new computer in the nearest future, but that’s because I don’t need a terminator-machine.

But then I don’t moan about the price on new computers nor games so I can’t speak for those who feel that way.
But I’ld still say it’s about priority and interest.

I don’t have Pro yet, but I’m using it as a kind of goal, that once I get a successful game out, then I’ll buy it, and so I’m not depending on any Pro features at the moment. I was thinking of doing the $75 subscription thing, but ending up not owning the software and ceasing to have access to it and having to pay for time doesn’t fit my preferences. It’s no ta good business model from my point of view, to pay subscription fees, unless they’re really low. I pay for website hosting about $10 a month. Maybe when I have more money I would change my perspective.

Hmm yeah I like the idea. Profiler would be really good “tool” to use also with nice dark theme good on eyes. You won`t release it with game so there would not be problem.

Are u using Trial period or Pro with crack? Though cracked cannot be updated right?

Locked as I see it’s going nowhere good with talk of cracks and piracy.
