Does Pro come with more textures?

does the pro version have a better standard assests package?

Nope, the Standard Assets package is exactly the same.
But I’m a bit surprised about your question. Unity is no content package, it’s an 3d engine. Creating the content is up to you.

Oh, my bad, I know what unity is, even though Im new. I was just looking at TiledTexturs.com and considering the mild $16 dollar purchase to get more textures. But if Pro came with more, I wouldn’t have.

Thanks for the info

I think it has a couple things like a different water texture/shader and things like that but mostly shaders, iirc.

You can always try out the 30-day trial of Pro to check yourself, too!

But yes buying a texture pack of textures you would use is definitely the way to go.

There isn’t a Pro version…when you download Unity, you download Unity Pro, so what you see is what you get. The only difference is the license.

Eric – but you don’t see the Pro Assets folder if you just unlock the Free Basic version, iirc.

And the shadows, reflections, refractions etc.

You can find some good textures, tileable and others for free on the web too.
Gimp is free to edit them if you don’t have Photoshop.

That’s not part of Unity, it’s a separate package that you can choose to import into a project or not. Same with Standard Assets and anything else you have in your Standard Packages folder. There’s nothing special about Pro Standard Assets, it’s just another package that everyone has, but you can’t do much with it unless you have Pro.

I think we’re arguing semantics at this point. Pro Assets are something you can use only if you have Pro and they do have shaders (not sure about textures) that aren’t in the Standard Assets – if he wants to check them out and see if they’re of use to him, he can try the Pro Trial. Kind of hard to evaluate them in Basic mode

I fully understand

There are lots of places for cheap or free textures.
