Does UnityPackageManager needs spying update for Windows7 starting from 2021.2.17?

Hi!

I’m still working on Windows 7. Unity ver. 2021.2.16 is working fine, but i tried to install newest version and after install, when i try to run it it stops during start when trying to run UnityPackageManager with Advapi32.dll error.

I was googlin agound and it looks, that newest version of UnityPackageManager needs spying update patch KB3080149.

Is it possible to use older UnityPackageManager (for example from 2021.2.16?) with the newest 2021.2.19 version? Or i’m stuck with older version? Ooor must i move to Linux?

Thanks!

same problem. fixed by updating to KB3080149. i think it’s necessarily to install this update… :hushed: OBEY

I’m having the exact same issue, but I have KB3080149 installed. Why does it need to access Advapi32.dll? 2020, 2019, all open fine with no problem. 2021LTS crashes on startup on every version, which has lost me 2 days of work!

Any updates on whether I can use the other package manager files instead of the new ones?

[EDIT!]

Fixed, with the stupidest primate brain solution possible: I deleted the Package Manager folder from the Resources folder. Copied the Package Manager folder from 2021.1.22, to the 2022.3.0f1 Resources folder…

…walla. Runs fine. Throws warnings but they are fixable.
