I’ve sent a bug report.
Is it possible to remove 10.4.9?
Ok folks, there is a solution at hand that only costs you another 310MB download… If you download and run the Intel 10.4.9 Combo updater then all is good. I just downloaded it and ran it myself and Unity is once again alive and well. We recognize that this is but a workaround and will continue to drive for a proper solution. If that fails on your end then please let us know ASAP.
PPC machines seem to be safe from this issue. David Helgason and I ran the initial update simultaneously, him on a PPC and me on an Intel machine and he was unaffected.
Just off iChat with David H. If you have updated using the auto update to 10.4.9 on an Intel Mac just do as Tom mentions … download the combo updater on Apple’s site and install that. Fixed everything fine for me …
I aslo submitted a crash log to the OTEE folks to help them solve the issue.
I thought to post here what happened to me just in case it might be of any help. After reading the email from otee I have installed directly the 10.4.9 combo update without installing the items shown in auto update. Restarted the machine. Installed the remaining updates with auto update (quicktime, itunes, …). At this point Unity didn’t start. Once I have reinstalled the combo update it worked again. Hope this help.
