"DontDestroyOnLoad" vs trigger

Hello. In my levels there are moving platforms, when entering on which, the character becomes a child, in relation to the platform. And when leaving it, the “DontDestroyOnLoad” ceases to be. Is it possible to return the character to the “DontDestroyOnLoad” state, after leaving the platform?

Can you just call DontDestroyOnLoad() again on the character when you unparent it? Also, are you sure this is what is happening?

Thank you. Sometimes the obvious things do not immediately come to mind. Especially if you’re not a programmer.))

Well sounds like you’re started on your way!

TBH, I’ve never manipulated the parenting of a DND object so I probably would have similarly scratched my head as to why it had suddenly lost its DND nature when it got parented/unparented. Makes sense that it does I guess.
