Double sided GI Plague or cholera

Ticking double sided GI fixes some errors. But breaks other. Look here double sided off

Double sided ticked fixes that error but creates new errors

What you perceive as an error is in fact either:

  • Indirect shadow being cast by the lid
  • Baked AO

This is exactly what baked GI is meant to do. Since I cannot see what your Lighting Settings are, I am just going to assume that you are using filtering of some kind. Try reducing the filtering radius. Alternatively, if you are using baked AO, try adjusting max distance value.

I forgot that filtering settings are dialed to eleven by default in PLM.

Using same settings as real scene, IE

Same result though

@kristijonas_unity

Other planks on the top of crate have same shadows but the bug is not present there

@kristijonas_unity I tried 2020.3.1 problem remains. I really need support, thanks

Problem is visible when not in direct light too

Please read this pinned post carefully. It explains this issue in great detail and offers solutions on how to fix it.

The overlap uv shader does not display any red but increasing lightmap scale 2 times solves the problem.

I dont get why PLM is doing. Why is this part completely black?

It is not a overlap issue

I have to crank up the resultion 4 times for it to be solved

But now it takes an entire 4k map

I guess 40 texels isnt enough for this prop

Enlighten seems to work better at 40 texels

Enlighten

PLM

@kristijonas_unity Something that enlighten does is more optimized which let you use lower resolutions .
