download assets on disk (?) for faster webplayer loading, how?

If you’ve ever played dead trigger 2 on facebook you’ll know exactly what I mean: what they do is, when you play the game for the very first time, after the initial loading bar, you’ll get another screen that starts downloading assets, I’m not sure if it is on your hardrive or somewhere in your browser, the thing is, you only get to see this screen once, so the next time you play it, the initial loading is actually relatively fast (at least for a game this big!) and you dont see that big loading screen again… my question is… how did they accomplish that? I’m currently working on a webplayer game with a huge initial loading time (around 10 minutes) and it would be nice to do what dead trigger 2 did… thanks in advance.

Thank you so much for your help. I’ve also been looking around by myself and I think I found something: Apparentely, having a webplayer game that saves assets on disk ala dead trigger 2 actually requires to get a SPECIAL LICENSE ADDON that is supposedely SUPER DUPER EXPENSIVE! :frowning: … Can anyone confirm to me if I’m correct? Because the stuff I’ve been reading was fairly old (2 to 5 years old)

If it is so… well, it sucks. It sucks hard. Guess I’ll just have to make my players wait for 10 minutes before playing my game :frowning:

Thanks again.

You are correct about the license. It is called caching license and you have to contact your sales person for a quote.
