Download texture from server URL using javascript

Hello,

Does anybody know how a unity program can tell javascript to download a texture from a particular url, then pass that texture back to my unity program so I can display it?

Im having problems with WWW freezing the entire WebGL app in the browser while its downloading the texture. I went to many websites that have a lot of images and there is no freeze while its downloading the images so there must be a way that javascript can do it without a freeze, but i have to pass the url to javascript and have it download the image, then someway to get image back inside unity.

Thanks

WWW should work fine with WebGL. We’re loading multiple textures during startup. How are you using it?

Did you sort it out?
I have foundThis is a simple demo:

with code in this post:

It gives a short hiccup - but no freeze - when the texture gets loaded into GPU. I think it is unavoidable.

Yes thats my thread, i show the code in there, it hiccups when loading ONE texture, but my code is actually loading 10 or more causing a freeze during that time, then the game resumes, but since its loading 10 textures at random times in the game is very annoying because everything freezes during that time.

Do you mean Unity WebGL websites?
Can you give some links here?
