I would like to know if there is a link where i can download the user manual for offline reading? I will most of the time work from a laptop outside home.

when you have unity3d installed on your laptop you already have the manual on your computer.
On Windows it is located in
C:/Program Files/Unity/Editor/Data/Documentation/Documentation/Manual/index.html
You can also reach it from the editor when you click on help.

documentation is missing in 5.3 any idea?
