Downloading the Unity plugin at school

Is this possible? A lot of the people playing my game want to play at school but they need the admin password to download the player. Is there any way of doing it without buying the Flash license?

Why not make your game a Windows or Mac stand alone and distribute it via flash drive or something dvd?

School laptops and computers suck…
Atleast where I am anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

My school doesn’t have flash player 11 so no Unity 3D there…

Ask your school IT staff to install the plugin for you?

LOL, when did hell freeze over :stuck_out_tongue:

I think he meant that people who play his game want to play it at school, i highly doubt that the IT staff will install it on every computer for some kids to play a game at school.

Maybe they should. Because that would quickly become very interesting with computer arts and programming with unity. I do this whenever I can, talk to schools etc and explain the benefits of game development as an educational path. Learning and Playing are the same thing as far as your brain is concerned, and making learning incredibly boring is not going to encourage people to investigate beyond is it?

And thats exactly the reason why Microsoft offers IT the option to disable that through right management on Pro and Enterprise.
There is no way around it. Either IT allows it or you get to use the computers for what you got them and only that.

If the IT staff is not a bunch of absolute noobs, plugins will be disabled anyway so even if you could install it, it wouldn’t work

I’m sticking with the webplayer because the game isn’t finished yet. I’m using the community’s feedback to improve it. I also want everyone to see my changes immediately.

Firefox has a portable edition. I’m going to try it out and see if it does what I want. Thanks for the responses guys.
