Drag & drop from project search to scene/inspector doesn't work in "one column layout"

When using the search the project view with “One Column Layout”, objects cannot be dragged into the scene. (“Two Column Layout” works fine)

For me, the opposite seems to be true. If I have the project window in two column mode, I can’t use drag & drop. However, if I switch to one column mode, it works fine.

At least I’ve found a way to add prefabs to my hierarchy!
