Hello everyone! It’s my first post here. I’m a girl-newbie-developer from Ukraine, so I apologize for my English and misunderstanding of rules, if it takes place. I’m working on my first Android game “Draw-a-way for Kolobok” alongside with designer-babysitter =) It’s an unusual “draw-a-way” platformer based on an old slavic fairy tale. The game is designed for children, but I guess it’s designed not very well… I got some bad feedback on an interface with no particular comments… So I want to improve it and need your advices. Here’s the link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.JustImagine.Kolobok
We’re still working on that project so we will keep this thread updated.
One more thing: Do you find the gameplay interesting and understandable? I have a thought to upload my project on the Asset Store.
Feel free to criticize! =)
What was the feedback on the UI?
The main issue I see represented in the image you posted and these two images is the many different ‘styles’
of graphics. Some have outlines, some don’t, some are simple vector fills, some are raster colored hand drawn graphics, some are somewhat realistic, while others are very saturated cartoony and others have no shading at all.
There is also a high contrast in detail from one visual element to the other.
Consider matching all visuals to one consistent ‘style’ and detail level. This will improve the overall look of the game - including UI elements.
