Let’s say I have this script:
public class CustomAudio
public AudioClip myClip;
I have 2 game objects in the same scene that both have CustomAudio attached as component. If both the game objects have the same audioclip assigned in the inspector, will the audio file be loaded in the scene once or twice (causing double the memory)? How could I confirm this?
This article explains a lot.
I ended up purchasing a Unity Asset that handles audio management. It has helped a lot and reduces the in game memory footprint dramatically to only items that are being used. There are several solutions in the Unity asset store, so I won’t be biased since I only chose one solution and cannot offer my advice except based on the only solution I bought.
