DTX5 compression not working with 8K textures

Hello!
The possibility to use 8K textures natively is truly awesome and arrives at the right moment for the project I’m working on.
But actually, there is a problem and the DTX5 compression is not working properly at this resolution. Only a small part of the texture is displayed, the rest remaining black.
I’ve already submitted a case (643713) but it seems that bugs submitted this way are never fixed so if anyone at unity sees this thread, please make a fix, I really really need this feature!!
Many thanks!

Most bug reports I’ve submitted have been fixed; submitting bugs is the correct procedure.

Ok so I’m gonna wait. Sorry for the insistance but in a near future this bug could become a nasty problem for my project, that’s why I’m worried and trying to bring attention on it. Is there a way to contact directly someone who can fix this?

They do pay attention to bug reports, especially on beta versions. Not all of them can be fixed, but it’s not from ignoring them - usually it’s either a difficult fix, or they haven’t been given enough information to reproduce it and/or track down the problem. I can’t see the project file you submitted to the bug reporter, but the best possible odds of getting a bug fixed are from submitting a stripped down project file containing nothing but the files needed to reliably reproduce your bug, along with detailed reproduction steps in the bug description.

Posting on the forum is good in that it may help increase exposure and draw comments from others experiencing the same bug, and more data points can only help Unity solve the problem faster. On its own, though, a forum post is not likely to increase the odds of a bug getting fixed.

Also make sure you’re using the latest version.

Thanks for your advices.
I made some tests, and it seems that the problem may be mac related. How can I edit the report to mention that?

I believe if you reply to the email that the bug tracker sent you, it will add that as a comment to the bug post.

Seems fine here, on a Mac with Unity 5.0b13. Make sure the problem exists using the latest Unity version before submitting a report.
