I have a dualshock 4 controller connected to my pc with a usb and using DS4Windows software. I am trying to get the y axis of the right stick. All of the input maps say that Y axis on right stick is supposed to be the 5th axis in unity input, but for me the Y axis on right stick is 6th axis. 5th axis is my right trigger button. I don’t have any other controllers to test it out, but do you think this is the DS4Windows software’s fault?
I guess you are not using the new InputSystem that this forum is for? In that case you should perhaps give it a try, no more controller-specific axis numbers to think about, you can just specify right thumbstick as an input.
With InputSystem DS4 should also just work with Unity without any need for DS4Windows (at least wired, I’m not sure about bluetooth). Perhaps it works even using the old system, I don’t think I’ve ever tested it?
DS4Windows is designed to fool apps into thinking you have an Xbox controller connected instead of a Playstation one. Perhaps that is why you’re not getting the input you expect?
