Easy Interface - Unity 3D Resources

Easy Interface allows you to use more than 15 GUI components in your Unity projects without any scripting. Hundreds of customizable options, including the ability to call functions in other scripts from button clicks, hover events, and more, by just specifying the name of the function. Includes custom components such as Message Boxes, Pre-Built Menus, and more.

We have been working on this for a long time now, and are almost finished. We just wanted to get this out there and see what people thought about it, and if they would use it. I have included the teaser video we made below. We look forward to hearing feedback.

ah there the video

Below are a couple more of the components available.

    Requests

We are almost finished, and we received some requests for other pre-built components, such as a Scrolling Credits Dialog, and a Pause Menu. Are there any other requests people would like before the release? Thanks for your time.

A quick update:

We have implemented a fully live preview editor for the components to make things easier on people.

Does it scale correctly with different screen resolutions? If so, I am extremely interested in this.

Yes. There are several different options for the scaling and positioning. Centering, offsets, manual, etc, and they work with each other, eg. More than one button will scale and position themselves accordingly to the resolution of the screen and other components.

Example for adding a button into your game:

  1. Choose Button from the menu, and a dockable window appears.
  2. Set all your properties with a live preview of what the button will look like in-game(text, icon, tooltip, sizes, sounds, etc).
  3. Enter the names of a script and function to call when the button is clicked, hovered over, and hovered out.
  4. Click Add Component, and select a gameobject to attach it to.
  5. Done.

So far we have 18 components to choose from, including some custom ones, like the message box shown above, menus, comboboxes. etc. Images, animations, sounds, etc are all supported, as well. If anyone can think of anything else they want, feel free to let us know.

Will this work in Unity 2.6 Pro? We’re still using that due to a project that was already started before 3.0. This looks like something we could definitely use.

This will work on Unity 2.6 or above. Pro is not required, but is supported.

This sounds really cool  any idea of a release date?

My thoughts exactly. Also, how much will it cost?

Well, we have been working on it for almost two months now, and it will probably be ready in the next week or so, if all goes well.

As for the price, we are not sure. We made this because we were looking for a way to use the GUI components without having to script, and without having to pay $200. We also got a huge amount of people sending us emails about adding things, so we will probably make it very cheap, seeing as how important it seems to be to users. We want everyone to be able to afford to use it.

I love you.

Update

We have discussed it and have all come to an agreement that we will let the community vote on how much they think this should cost.

Keep in mind that we would like to make a little money, but also, we want everyone to be able to afford it. :stuck_out_tongue:
Happy Voting!
