I have been working on an mmofps called Eclipse of War. I posted Update #1 before, and here is number 2. I am sorry the update got delayed a couple days, had a lot of work. So here it is!!! :] Enjoy!!!
Please don’t make a thread every time you update. Make a thread than encompasses your entire game, updates included. You’ll really be flooding the forums with threads we don’t want to see multiple times.
Ok, well I had alot of info their so made new one. No need to beat a dead horse, I wont make new one for a while. Thanks for watching let me know what you think of game, and please vote poll. :]
I have fixed a small glitch in the multiplayer, however the video is the same. I accidentally forgot to add a script to the x-axis of the other player so it was glitchy. :]
You can update the original post to be up to the current version. Then by posting in that thread, the thread will be bumped to the top once more, where others will see the update, and comment.
On another note, you should focus on the networking and gameplay mechanics before straying into the graphics and weapons. Once you have a solid foundation, and you have a working, near bug-free sample, then proceed into the visual aspects.
Character is in the environment, aka gameplay. Your character makes the game, while the environment surrounds you. Also you can have a great game without a great environment, and the other way around. :]
Of course, its only update #2. I will focus in different directions per update. Update #3 is multiplayer/interface. Update #4 Will do better gameplay. Update #5 will do character/environment, and so fourth. :]
You could take any game ever made and strip the characters from them, replace them with generic placeholders like the Unity capsule and the gameplay would still be present. Gameplay is how the player interacts with the physics of the game. How the player’s inputs affects things in game. The character is art, anything it can do gameplay-wise, so can a placeholder.
Gameplay, has to do with details and your style of art. Without a character you lose a big part of gameplay. Imagine Call of duty with capsules instead of soldiers, it loses realism, as it is important. Sure you would still have other gameplay, however, a character can be very essential. :]
No, it would lose immersion, which may have effects on gameplay, but it’s not a subset of gameplay. Of course character art is essential, for immersion.
“Can you please stop spamming all of the forums with threads about your game, stick too one thread please. No matter how old it is.”
I have done 2, how is that spamming? Please stop harrasing me about making 2 threads 1 week apart from each other. It is not spamming and I am allowed to do it. If you have a problem don’t click it. :] Enjoy the updates!
