Economy simulation game at the ready

Hello Unity community.

For about 2 years i have this idea on a game and there was already some pre-production done for it.
Then i read this thread and contacted Stefano_1990 who is interested by realizeing a game like this.

Also an expierienced XNA Programmer contacted me on that Project and as XNA works with C# he is able to get fast into Unity.

Also Unity 3.5 seems to have massive improvements fitting perfect in this type of a game.
Now there are new possibilities.

The game is a 3D city building game with strategy elements such as Anno (Dawn of discovery) or the Settlers. It takes the player in a post apocalyptic scenario and he has to repupolate the surface.

The game includes:

  • Fluid Daytime cycles what changes the gameplay
  • Priorized Multiplayer (non-MMO)
  • Some other features you might miss in current titles but they are not specified enought to be mentioned here

We want to let this game growth, similar to minecraft. Publishing a basic alpha version in a short period of time and build it up with community feedback is a very good idea in my opinion and strengthens motivation which is the most important thing.

Now i just want to let you know what we´re doing and getting first feedback, even when this description is rather short.

If someone is interested for collaboration feel free to contact me at contact@eyecystudio.de
We do not actively seeking people, but if you have something we need we can talk about that.

Best regards,

Kevin

I just updated the first post because things have changed rapidly, in a positive way.
So you have to read less

1 : So, do you have it ready or is it just an idea at this point?
2 : Obviously don’t plan for success right off the bat. Hell, I think notch worked on minecraft for over a year before he released alpha - and he’s extremely lucky minecraft went how it did.

Thanks for your critics. But to explain it:

1: We just started founding the team and there is more as just an idea. “At the ready” means we are ready to start.
2: I just took this as an example, it is only about the way we want to produce. I am not expecting a similar success.

We are happe if the game is playable and some people like it, that´s basically all.
