I wanted to present to you the Kickstarter of our latest project Edge Of Eternity, an indie JRPG for PC/Mac/Linux/PS4/Xbox-One made with Unity 4 (we’ll updgrade to Unity 5 soon ^^), it also include a pre-alpha demo,
We are actually 4 people (1 programmer/game designer, 2 artists and 1 sound designer) working on this version since a year,
Intro
Edge of Eternity is an indie tribute to J-RPG classics. Explore a universe blending fantasy with science-fiction, intense ATB battles and branching story.
Gameplay
Edge of Eternity is inspired by the great JRPG tradition for the strategical turn-based combats and the characters progression and by the latest success of western RPG for the vast open worlds to explore and the non-linear stories.
In a few words, our game is all about exploring, building up your characters, fighting and living an adventure to remember.
We will also try to make our contribution to the genre by proposing our own vision of key gameplay features like our advanced weapons improvement system or our association of a world map you can explore and very larges open areas.
We’ll also work with the amazing japanese composer Yasunori Mitsuda if we reach our 130,000$ stretch goal
Wow! Finally a game to pick up where final fantasy left off LONG ago. There have been so many games like these that I enjoyed long ago but nothing these days seems to match them. The environment looked brilliant and the characters and their animations are wonderful! The fighting system looks tight as well as your trailers presentation. All in all, definitely following.
Now if only I could model, texture or animate on even a quarter of that level. lol
No Squaresoft influence at all here!
Looks very interesting, but I’d think if I had an option to play as a main character I’d want my character to have a kick butt weapon, not ‘fists of power’. That’s kind of boring.
