Edit Mecanim animations

Hello everyone,

I am trying to edit some of the animations I bought in the asset store, I know 3ds max can open fbx, but I can’t import the animation to blender.

Do I have to use 3ds max to edit the animations? and how?
I am used to Blender’s auto weights+weight tuning for bones, couldn’t find my way around in 3ds.

After some search, BVH Exporter claims it does, I am yet to try it out.
