Editor Camera Lock (Can't rotate)

Hello!

I’m so sick of this, I’ve searched EVERYWHERE for an answer, but I could not find anything on my issue.

While painting terrain and flying around in the unity editor, I go to rotate the camera, I guess I press shift along with the left and right mouse button, and it locks my camera to where I can’t rotate, it then does not rotate again until I exit and open unity, but I’m sick of doing that.

Does anyone know the solution to this? This has to be the most ANNOYING feature for me.

Let me guess, when this happens your cursor is stuck on the little eye icon right? This has been a problem with unity for a while, just press play on your game, then stop that fixes it.

Yeah! You guessed it, and that fixed it, much faster than opening and closing, thank you!

When having a GameObject selected with a custom editor script on it and then rotating the view in scene window also
makes it stuck to View Tool (little eye icon active).
Surely it comes from the custom editor script.

Pressing PlayGame indeed helps, but that´s still very annoying.

Any solutions?

… not to this day. The bug is still around, more heavy on the earlier versions of unity, especially from 2017’s, and is very inconclusive, as usual in Unity bugs. There are a few ‘solutions’ that ‘fixed it’, featured on the forums, but in reality - the bug is still there and seems to have to do, with the editor camera not being able to look left-right at the times, while it seems that look movement up-down is not affecting the scene camera, regardless that bug :).
