I’m using Windows 10 64bit. When I try to launch the editor I get the splash screen followed by this.
{
“message” : “Input Error”,
“code” : “132.001”,
“details” : [ {
“field” : “redirect_uri”,
“reason” : “Query parameter is invalid. launcher://unity/C:/Users/New User/AppData/Roaming/Unity/Packages/node_modules/unity-editor-home/dist/index.html is not allowed.”
} ]
}
Update:
It seems the new unity launcher won’t take user names with spaces in them.
Solution:
Create a new user admin account with no spaces in the name. Relaunch unity using this account. Worst case scenario do a fresh install under this account.
Just came here to post the exact same error. Except “New User” is my user name.
Also Windows 10 64 bit. I tried to uninstall and reinstall multiple times. I removed Unity option from VS2017 and tried to reinstall and tried the option where Unity can install VS2017.
I think the folder name “New User” might be a problem. I don’t think the query recognizes the space in between the name as a character. If you have time try creating a new admin account with a name and space then reinstall unity. I’ll try it later because I think that’s the issue.
It still has a space. I just created a new user account with no spaces and I’m doing the reinstall. I forgot how fast this new pc is It should only take 10 minutes or so and I’ll have the verdict.
I don’t think this is a personal computer issue. I think it’s a Unity issue. I started having the same problem about twenty minutes ago.I haven’t changed anything in my computer and out of the blue this happens. I wonder if pro-users are having the same issue?
It’s working for me now that I installed it under a new user account with no space in the name. I think it might have just been an issue connecting with the web server. Either way all is well on my end.
If you’re still having the same problem let me know.
I am all new to Unity and just made a fresh install to my Windows 10 64bit. After finishing the install process and starting the program I get the exact same error - except of the user name.
I tried clicking on the Unity scene file to open Unity which seems to work. I tired to create a new project after opening that file and I was able to do so, albeit, that DOS style window opened up reminding me of the error. I’ll take what I can get for right now. I might add that this problem started for me after trying to make a purchase with the Unity asset store.The low poly Guns package I was trying to purchase gave me a warning that the assets package was created with an earlier version of Unity and, as such, may not be suitable for Unity 2017. It was when I tried to purchase the package after clicking accept that Unity started misbehaving. I didn’t want to have to spend the next few days modeling a few stupid weapons, but it looks like that’s what i’m going to have to do.
EDITED (4:54 pm est): When tried to sign into the Unity asset store vi the Scene window, the error message immediately popped up. Unity just updated my previous version of Unity to Unity version 2017.
I’m having this exact same problem. I’m not sure what’s wrong but I’ve got just one or two but very expensive things on my account and I can’t afford to just make a new one. My username does have a space in it.
I tried logging on offline and generating a manual key, which I then logged on to approve and loaded into the browser. Upon starting with a live internet connection, it threw the error again.
Wow. Two days later and Unity opens without a glitch. And what is more, I didn’t even reinstall the program. Like I said, the issue must have been coming from Unity’s end of the field,
Now there’s an error message that says ERROR LOADING LAUNCHER. After getting this error message, I could no longer control my objects in the game window, and the movements that should be happening are occurring in the scene window. I started having all of these issues after Unity installed the Unity 2017 update. I wonder if Pro Users are having the same issue? I doubt it.
