Editor folder location improvements

I am talking about this screen. Small things :

  • I previously have a folder pointing to an external HDD, that HDD is not plugged in right now and I wasn’t aware. When I press installing new version I thought Hub broke because it does nothing on clicking install after specifying which component I want. Better behaviour should be a dialog box warning that the folder doesn’t exist.
  • I think the Save button is strange. I don’t know why but I was expecting the button to either take me back, display success status bar like Google Play dev console-style, or no button at all for just a folder path like this. The button currently has no feedback.
  • “Secondary” so where is the main ones? Isn’t this the only one path? Because making it blank then all my editor choices disappeared. Anyways, I want real 2 paths because I have one in my computer and one more I want to point to my external HDD.

Thank you for posting feedback! It’s true that this workflow isn’t really straightforward right now. It’s called secondary path because if you already installed editors in the default path we didn’t want to remove or move them so the custom install path is secondary to the default. I think we tried to cover too many use cases at first and it ended up making the most straightforward ones awkward. We’ll definitely address that, although I can’t point to a specific milestone right now.
