I have a project in version 2022.3.13f1 that I’m using OpenXR to connect to my Oculus Quest through Oculus Link. I can enter play mode and play the game totally fine, but when I try to exit play mode the Editor freezes completely and can only be closed by ending task. This issue does not occur when I don’t have the headset connected, in that case I can enter and exit play mode just fine. I have tried deleting and resetting plugin assets, switching from OpenXR to Oculus, and disabling alphanumeric sort which some said would help. Any help is appreciated.
Hello NMaz,
I have exaclty the same issue with Oculus Quest 1 since I updated the quest link application on my PC.
Quest 2 and 3 instead work fine.
Same issue after the recent Meta update (Quest 1, Unity 2021.3), the editor freezes when exiting Play Mode (no issue if the headset is not connected, no issues whatsoever before said update).
Is there some way to downgrade the meta link software so it works with quest 1? Seems unlikely
Yeah from the looks of it, that’s a nope. Seems like the only fix is to wait for a potential update from Meta.
I tried to copy Oculus folder from Program Files directory and also some drivers named oculus from System32 directory from a not updated PC but without success
Not a solution for me I’m afraid (SteamVR causes massive slowdowns on my poor old PC if I’m running Unity), but still, thanks for sharing this!
I’m running into the same problem here, using a Oculus Quest 1.
The game plays fine on Oculus, but when I click to stop playing on Unity Editor, the Editor freezes and can only be closed forcing to close its task.
I’m using Unity 2022.3.22f1 with OpenXR. I tried to use SteamVR, and the bug didn’t happen, but the game had lags that I didn’t have using Meta Quest Link.
Anyone has found a solution for this problem?
I fixed the problem here activating the Public Test Channel. Now it’s not freezing anymore when stoping the game in the editor.
Go to:
Configurations, then open the tab Beta.
After opening it, select the option Public Test Channel. A popup asking if you want to enter the Public Test Channel will open, confirm it and wait for the download to complete.
After downloading, the Meta Quest Link will restart, and after that the Editor should work fine.
Sorry if some words weren’t translated right into English, I’m using the PT-BR version of the app. But I’ve added a screenshot to help finding the option.
Can’t test this right now but I will as soon as possible and report back. In any case, thanks so much for going through the trouble and for sharing!
Edit: that did it!! Thank you SO much, that’s gonna make working on this that much smoother.
(side note: I guess this means the next non-beta Meta update fixes it too, which is good)
That finally solved it after 1.5 days of struggle
I love you
Thanks man!
